Mambo Blue W/ Angel Roman
Full Latin Band
Angel Roman, originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, honed his musical talents at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and Berklee College of Music. His journey led him to Florida, where he collaborated with Grammy-winning and Emmy-nominated producer Joel Someillan and became a sought-after sideman for touring artists from Puerto Rico and South America.
Just before his move to Nashville, Angel had the opportunity to perform with the renowned Colonial Bruce Hampton. Once in Nashville, his talents were quickly recognized, leading to a job with Henry Murphy and the Seahawks. This band became the house band for The Tin Roof, a popular entertainment venue frequented by famous artists, actors, and sports figures.
Beyond his role in the house band, Roman has an impressive list of collaborations. He's performed with country singer Lari White, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra from the 2009 TV show 'The Next Great American Band', and worked with notable figures like Stan Lynch of Tom Petty, Andrew Copeland of Sister Hazel, producer David Malloy of Kenny Rogers, and Grammy Award winner Robert Battaglia of Bela Fleck.
Now based in Austin, Texas, Roman continues to showcase his versatility across various live venues. He's currently focused on his band Mambo Blue and composing for future projects, particularly outside the Afro Latin Jazz genre, demonstrating his continuous evolution as a musician.
