Angelica Rahe

Angélica Rahe, often compared to Solange and Sade, has re-emerged in the music scene after a pandemic-induced hiatus. Formerly the musical director, background vocalist, and guitarist for Kali Úchis and an opener for Lana Del Rey in 2018, Rahe shifted her focus to a solo career. Relocating from LA to Austin, the Spanish-American singer-songwriter released her debut album "REINA" in 2020, praised for its smoothness and unique take on Spanish music.

Though her planned 20-city tour was canceled due to the pandemic, Rahe utilized this period to enhance her musicianship and artistry. Her follow-up album "autorretrato" (self-portrait) demonstrates her growth, blending sultry vocals with uptempo production. This album, featuring collaborations with Adrian Quesada of Black Pumas, Soft Glas, AC Metta of Cometta, Dallas rapper Cameron McCloud, and Megz Kelli of Magna Carda, marks a potential breakout for Rahe, who produced and engineered all the tracks.

"Autorretrato" has been recognized for its simplicity and emotional depth. The Austin Chronicle praised it for its tactile and sensual intimacies, likening it to a "lingering touch, warm embrace, or longing look." This album, created in her bedroom studio, showcases Rahe's evolving talent and intimate songwriting style.
