Tomar Williams, originally a lead singer in his family band on the Chitlin Circuit in the late 1980s, re-emerged as a frontman in 2015 after years as a music producer and sideman. He joined forces with the local instrumental band, the FCs, forming Tomar and the FCs.

The band has released three albums: "Day by Day," "Heart Attack," and their latest, "Rise Above," which came out on Splice Records in 2020. They've toured across the country and performed at major festivals like Austin City Limits Music Festival, Old Settlers Music Festival, SXSW, and Bonnaroo in 2022.

In 2023, Tomar and the FCs were recognized at the Austin Music Awards, winning the title of best R&B act, with Tomar himself earning the accolade of best male vocalist.
